What are the differences between outdoor LED displays and indoor LED displays?

As the name suggests, the core distinction between outdoor and indoor LED displays lies in their application scenarios: one is designed for outdoor installation while the other for indoor use. Outdoor LED screens must be waterproof with a minimum IP65 ingress protection rating.

We also have a semi-outdoor type. Such displays are installed indoors yet viewed by audiences outdoors, hence requiring relatively high brightness to guarantee clear visibility of screen content for outside viewers.

For the same model specification, outdoor LED displays are priced higher, heavier in weight and manufactured with more sophisticated craftsmanship compared to indoor versions.

In general, outdoor LED screens require reliable waterproof treatment. Once water seeps inside, most electronic components tend to get damaged in batches, resulting in expensive and troublesome repairs. This is a key point requiring attention from both LED screen manufacturers and end customers.
